One More Month of Wedding Planning
Wedding planning has been quite the journey. I hear there are people who have been dreaming about their wedding since they were 5 years old. I am certainly not one of them.
One of the most painful aspects has been navigating the endless stream of design decisions. For the last year, my evenings and weekends have been consumed by contemplating the aesthetics of every detail imaginable, such as:
- Wedding invitations
- Welcome sign
- Welcome drinks
- Sign for the welcome drinks
- Cake design
- Cake topper
- Bouquet colors
- Bouquet shape
- Bridesmaid dresses
- Groomsmen suits
- Polaroid camera color
- Polaroid film shape
- Polaroid table sign
- Guestbook for the polaroids
- Card box
- Menu
- Centerpieces
- Place cards
- Napkin colors
- Napkin folding shape
- Round or long tables
- Dresses for the welcome dinner, rehearsal dinner, and wedding reception
- Shoes, jewelry, hair, and makeup for all of the above
... the list goes on.
I've been lucky to have incredibly supportive friends guiding me through this process. Many of my friends have willingly take on tasks like helping me choose dresses and swimsuits, taking photos and videos at my wedding dress appointments, creating DJ song lists, sending reminders to the bridal party, stamping and mailing invitations, and so much more. To my friends reading this, thank you! 🥰
One of my friends is an exceptionally talented graphic designer. She has been instrumental in holding my hand as I make bouquet and cake topper decisions, while also crafting the most stunning elements for our wedding.
Here is the exquisite tri-fold wedding invitation she made for us:
Having someone with artistic talent on my side has made this wedding planning journey so much more manageable. Last night, we made signature drink signs and dinner menus over Trader Joe's dumplings and homemade Negronis, and wrapped up with a plan for the homestretch. I'm so excited to see the final elements come together in just a month!
And to never look at Pinterest again.
